Rhodesian Ridgeback were used to hunt lions people if u want a dog which will die for u get a Rhodesian Ridgeback i have 2 they fought 3 buglers try to stl our car 1 guy got away 2 were cornered till the police got them

Umm the American Pit Bull Terrier is NOT a good guard dog. In fact according to the breed standard human aggression is a major fault. Maybe you should have done more research before you made this list. To make matters worse you don’t even have a picture of an actual APBT. The picture you have is of an American Staffordshire Terrier.

Where is The Belgian Malinois, the Dutch Shepherd, The boxer, the Kurdish Kangal, The Presa Canario and the Cane Corso? I think this list is in need of a makeover.

you are all wrong the german shepard is the strongest and bravest dog ever it can hurt many people if you mess whith them same withe the wolf the diffrence with a german shepard and a wolf is that a wolf will kill you it is to aggresive to be trained

The American Pit Bull Terrier is a horrible guard dog.
*It’s not even a guardian breed*
If one prone to be an “alert/alarm barker” as mine are, that may scare someone away; but a well bred one would probably smother a burglar with kisses or want to play. Human aggression is not in their nature. Craving human attention and affection is.

Also, I agree, the Belgian Malinois should be on the list.

Ummm… Korean Jindo Dog.
They are very brave and loyal but are hard to train and high energy but if trained well they make good guardians.

I know about 600 dog breeds.Out of the 600 dog breeds i chose the Oorang Airedale as my first pick,i also got a Rhodesian Ridgeback.Time went by,both dogs eventually died.About a year passed by and i felt it was time to get another dog.I got another Oorang Airedale.They do not seem too concerned about the threatening antics of a “badman”,a vicious dog,or a wild animal.They don’t act aggressive,they don’t look scarey,they don’t bar their fangs or growl…..they just attack and fight quietly.My first Airedale was confronted by three boisterous men in their 20s,one had a huge Rottie,one an Akita and the third a Pit.The group of six acted aggressive,the Airedale got in front of me and just posed looking at them.It was tense for a few seconds but they went around us and left.My current Airedale male 110lbs faced two English mastiffs,believe it or not,they tucked tail and left,they did not run away,they put their tails between their legs and walked off.The Airedale is not a superdog.They are just matter of fact,if you come after me,i will fight back and you will get hurt too,no matter how big you are.
